Pressure relief valve for cold store - has heating element to prevent ice blocking of inwardly and outwardly opening sprung flaps

The inwards and outwards pressure relief valve (1) is mounted by the flange (6) on the wall (P) of the cold store. The plate (8) has two square holes which are covered by spring loaded flaps (16). One flap opens outwards to relieve a high pressure in the cold store and the other flap opens inwards to relieve a depression. An electric element (4) is mounted on the bracket (3) and projects into the opening (0) to maintain the temperature in this region slightly above 0 deg.C. This prevents ice forming on the flaps (16) and so avoids the risk of ice causing the flaps to stick in the closed position.
