<p>The traction system between a vehicle and a trailer has a system of longitudinal members with cables (58) attached. At each side of the main draw bar (8d) and its connecting head (10a) is an arm (60) with one end connected to a cross piece (61) located just under and ahead of the head. Each arm is held at the end remote from the cross piece, between two swinging straps (70) clamped onto a parallel square section tube (57) sloping outwards from the draw bar (8d). A rod (59) passing through a slot in the arm (60) is attached to the traction cable (58). This rod is mounted on a block inside the arm, acting as a piston. The arms (60) have resilient buffers where they join the cross piece (61).</p> |
