Expanded perlite boards prodn. - by rolling a viscous mixt. of expanded perlite particles

A bonded expanded perlite board is made by rolling to the required thickness a layer of a viscous paste of expanded perlite particles and at least one additive and cutting the board to length. The additives preferably comprise a mixture of TiO2, Na2SiO3, SiO2, glass fibres and fireclay. A machine for performing this process is specifically claimed. The boards have good heat insulation properties withstanding temp. >1000 degrees C without loss of bond strength or loss of impermeability to fire, flame or toxic gas.
