The system has two supply rolls (3, 4) next to which a movable joining device is arranged which has an idler roll (11), a web brake (34a, 34), a cutter and a joining roll (27a, 27). If the device is arranged next to the almost-unwound supply roll, the web brake (34a, 34) is actuated and the web is stopped. If the device is arranged next to the full supply roll, the web brake stops the web for severing and aligning until the join has been produced. The joining roll has projections for guiding a cutting tool. On the discharge side of the joining device, the idler roll (11) is arranged which interacts with a dancer roll (12) in order to keep the web under tension. After the join has been produced, the idler roll (11) can be driven in order to increase the tension of the web and to accelerate the web taken off from the full supply roll to the normal velocity. <IMAGE> |
