<p>The plant comprises an oxidn. zone in the form of an elongated channel. The oxidn. zone is made up by assembling tubular parallelepiped elements made of concrete. Each element is made with inlet and outlet openings of the same size and shape. The element is internally lined on its base and two sides with a sheet of thermoplastic material which extends through inlet and/or outlet openings to form flaps. To assemble two elements for continuous flow, the outlet of the first element is superimposed against the inlet of the second element, and the flaps of one are seam welded to the lining of the other. An element may be open at both ends for straight through flow, the unlined concrete top pref. having a manhole type aperture. The thermoplastic sheet is pref. secured to the concrete by having protruding studs on one side of the sheet for anchoring in the concrete as the element is cast. Used for constructing channel type oxidn. zones for waste water treatment plants. Modular construction enabling any size and shape of zone to be made up is provided and facilitates very cheap construction of channel type oxidn. zones.</p> |
