Automatic viscosity control in extruder - by recording electrical resistance of melt and regulating a resistance heater accordingly

A control device, for plastics processing machinery, in which the material passes through a plastic stage, measures the electrical resistance of the melt as an indicator of its viscosity and homogeneity and passes an output signal to an evaluating instrument. Simple and quick viscosity determination at a convenient point in the processing, e.g. in an extruder, is obtd.
