In a time division multiplex system for PCM signals, the switching codes must be transmitted, as well as telephony signals. If two-wire connections between exchanges are used, the codes are transmitted via the speech cores in both directions. To reduce power consumption, the circuit arrangements for receiving loop codes are not in relay form but fully electronic. In this case, it is necessary to ensure both low cost and suppression of interference voltages generated in the speech cores. A code evaluation device (SZA) is therefore provided, and supplements the three transmitter-sensor combinations (FHP, FHM, FNP) which are provided for code input and output. <IMAGE>
