Ceramic blanks deburring machine - exerts smoothing pressure on burrs during movement of blank and tool

The deburring machine for cast or pressed ceramic blanks generates rapid reciprocating relative movements between the blank and the tool. These movements take place along or in transverse direction to the burrs. The burrs are removed so that neither the traces of the burr itself nor traces of the deburring processes are detachable on the finished ceramic objects. Pressure is exerted only on those surfaces of the blank, which have burrs, at right angles during the relative movement between the blank (28) and the tool (20). The burr is smoothened into the blank and any cutting or scrubbing effects on the blanks within the region of the burrs are avoided. The frequency and amplitude of the relative movement between the blank and tool and the pressure exerted are adjusted so that the material is loaded in the burr region within the range of marked thixotropic behaviour.
