<p>In a heat exchanger a pack of flat elements which enclose flow passages between them, the elements are commercially available hollow, one-piece, shaped plates, whose parallel walls are held apart by spacing strips. Passages between one pair of plates run at right angles to the passages between adjacent pairs of plates. The pass ages between one pair of plates are separate and parallel, and effect the required heat transfer. The heat exchanger is simpler, cheaper and quicker to mfr. than one having flat plates held apart by spacers which have to be attached to the plates during assembly. Sealing of the heat exchanger is also simplified.</p> |
