The captured air cushion is contained by lateral bulkheads within side floats near the ends of the wing. The fuselage bow wave prevents waves from entering the air cushion. The craft is stable in waves, with the front of the fuselage pushing the waves aside. Spray and waves are detered from entering the air cushion so that a maximum lift effect can be achieved.
