<p>The inside walls of the inspection pit are fitted with horizontal guide rails and ledges. The bottom rails support a moving jack (31) which is positioned under the axle to lift it clear off the ground. a second set of rails, above the first, support a movable frame (128) which is positioned under the axle to support the vehicle when the jack is released. The support trolley moves on sprung rollers, and is pushed down onto the ledge when loaded, and for stability. When not in use the trolley and jack support are moved to either end of the pit for maximum access. The system enables heavy vehicle to be lifted clear off the ground by a versatile trolley and jack arrangement.</p> |
