The combustion engine consists of a cylinder (1), a shaft (2) to which a piston (3) is connected and a piston (4) which is attached to another part of the shaft. The cylinder has a gas inlet (5) and an exhaust (6). The two pistons are interconnected by a lever system or other suitable drive mechanism. During rotation there is a relative angular movement between the pistons so that the space between the pistons is alternately enlarged and made smaller. The combustion chamber between the pistons is alternately enlarged and made smaller. The combustion chamber between the pistons is shaped so, that when the two pistons approach each other, a narrow gap (10) is formed which squeezes the gases into the remaining part of the combustion chamber. The gases squeezed out of the gap (10) cause turbulence in the combustion chamber, which results in more efficient combustion and cleaner outlet gases.
