1486107 Pigment preparations DEUTSCHE GOLD-UND SILBER-SCHEIDEANSTALT 25 Feb 1975 [8 March 1974] 7810/75 Heading C3P [Also in Division C4] Pigment preparations are produced by intimately mixing carbon black and a blue pigment with powdered or dissolved polyvinyl pyrrolidone and a solution of a cation-active invert soap in an organic solvent and drying the resulting mixture at a temperature below 80‹ C. The process may be effected in an edge mill, kneader, intensive mixer or fluid mixer, the pigments and powdered polyvinyl pyrrolidone being mixed under the effects of rubbing, grinding or shearing forces and the product mixed with a solution of the invert soap in an alcohol and/or carboxylic acid ester, or the pigments may be so mixed and the product mixed with a solution of the polyvinyl pyrrolidone and invert soap. Preferred invert soaps are dioleate salts of C 10-18 fatty diamines. The products may be used in the preparation of waxless carbon papers, typewriter ribbons, printing inks and pigmented plastics.
