1486173 Picture and like frames P REIM 29 Jan 1976 [25 April 1975] 03505/76 Headings A4U and A4X A picture or the like 12 is mounted in a frame comprising frame parts having opposed front and rear faces on spaced portions 17, 23, resilient means 14 being disposed between the object like 12 and a rear plate 13 for urging these towards the respective faces. A transparent plate 11 of glass or plastics material is optionally disposed in front of the object 12 which may have a rear protective coating. The plate 13 is of moulded fibre-board and it is connected to the frame parts by a projection 20 on each of the frame parts engaging a recess 21 in the plate 13, and the resilient means 14 may be of synthetic foam material and it may cover the entire surface of the plate 13 or be in the form of strips at the border of the plate 13, or it may be in the form of a spring or springs. The frame parts may be of metal or extruded synthetic plastics material, and V-shaped notches 24 are provided for hanging the frame on a wall rail 25. In a second embodiment, Fig. 3 (not shown), the notches 24 are located between the projections 20 and the outside of the frame, and the portions 23 of the frame are provided by relatively narrow projections on the frame. The portions 17 of the frame may be transparent. In a third embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown), each frame part is of a two-piece construction. The outer part (41) may be of wood and the inner part (42) of metal or synthetic plastics material.
