A portion of the auger is left protruding above the earth situs, the lower flighting of the auger being freed of augered earth and then surrounded by cementitious material M. A portion of the hollow shaft 17 of the auger is also filled with cementitious material extending above the earth situs to provide a columnar body or pile with the auger embedded in it.</p> |
