<p>This invention provides a new sealing rinse and process for its application to phosphate coated metals to seal against porosity and to promote the adhesion of subsequent paint coatings. The new sealing rinse is an aluminum polymer prepared by adding aluminum hydroxide dried gel to hot chromic acid. In the application of the sealing rinse, steel, galvanized steel, aluminum and zinc are given a phosphate coating and then wetted with an aqueous solution of the aluminum polymer.</p> |
