<p>1497410 Endless conveyers P C CASTRO 27 Dec 1974 [31 Dec 1973] 55903/74 Heading B8A A mechanism for varying the distance between cages 5 in a cage transporting apparatus, shown applied to parking automobiles, wherein the cages 5 are arranged in two superimposed horizontal rows and are interconnected by cables 15, 17 comprises a hanger 6 for each cage 5 which rolls or slides on longitudinal rails (not shown) provided on the top and at the middle level of a structure 1. The cages 5 are closely adjacent to conserve space in the horizontal runs and the cables 15, 17 effectively lengthened as the cages 5 pass around driven pulleys 3 to avoid contact between the cages 5. Each hanger 6 has rounded elements 18 received in recesses 4 in the pulleys 3 and comprises slides consisting of a pair of plates 8, a pulley 13 and rollers 14. The rollers 14 are engageable by guides (not shown) which control the positioning of the slides and accordingly the amount of the cables 15 taken up, the cables 15 each passing over a pulley 12 fixed to the hanger 6 and one of the pulleys 13, being fixed at one end 16 to the hanger 6, and at the other end, as reference 17 indicates, to the adjacent cage 5.</p> |
