PURPOSE:To obtain the subject fiber having a specific latent crimping property and excellent stretchability, bulkiness, heat-welding property, etc., and suitable for woven or knit fabric, nonwoven fabric, paper raw material, etc., by conjugating polyethylene terephthalate with a modified polyethylene terephthalate copolymerized with isophthalic acid. CONSTITUTION:The objective fiber is produced by carrying out conjugate spinning of (A) a modified polyethylene terephthalate produced by the copolymerization of 20-80mol% of isophthalic acid with terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol and (B) polyethylene terephthalate in the form of e.g. an eccentric sheath-core fiber or a side-by-side type fiber and preferably imparting a spiral crimping, etc., to develop >=30/25mm of crimps at 80 deg.C. |
