Rubber to metal bonding adhesive compsn. - contg. conjugated diene, heterocyclic cpd., copolymerisable monomer and silica filler

In a process of bonding a rubber to a ferrous metal substrate an adhesive is applied to the metal substrate. The rubber is contacted and bonded by heat and pressure. The adhesive an interpolymer comprising 40-99% conjugated diene, 1-20% heterocyclic nitrogen base and 0-40% additional copolymerisable monomer. The adhesive contains about 5-180 pts. of a high purity silica filler per 100 pts. of interpolymer.
