The stator for a machine, has its end windings fixed rigidly so that the machine can withstand greater electrodynamic forces whilst still allowing relative movement due to thermal expansion. A ring (8) is bolted to the outside of the stator assembly (2) and has a radially projecting lip (9) beneath the winding overhang (3). Triangular supports (6) are located between the inclined overhang bars and the lip of the ring. Wedges (12) can be driven between the triangular supports and the lip to force the supports against the overhang.
|
