<p>A car seat belt is secured close to the seat and at or above shoulder height and has a lock close to the seat securement. The far end of the belt (18) is secured to the door (2) frame or releasably mounted component (7, 7a) on this so that the belt wearer can be removed from the vehicle or release himself from the belt when the belt end swings out with the door or component as specified. The component (7a) inside the door has a second element to engage a rail or other guide (8) on the door rim to hold the belt fastened during accidents or door release when the door parts from the belt but the belt thus remains fast to the door post rail (8). The edn of the belt on the slide (7a) travels against a spring in direction (19), i.e. towards the door hinges.</p> |
