<p>The machine is drawn behind a tractor and used to dig potatoes and similar root crops. These are passed rear-wards onto twin oscillating screens (5) where the dirt is removed. The roots are then deposited on the ground or onto a conveyor. The screens are placed side by side in the chassis (1), being inclined upwards to the rear. Each screen is suspended from links those at the front being driven from the tractor's power take-off. Each screen comprises side boards with transverse rods in two staggered rows. Boards guide the potatoes onto the screens and rear wheels are fitted to the chassis.</p> |
