The indicator luminaire, in particular for rail-borne vehicles, comprises a baseplate (10) as the carrier of mounts with inserted incandescent lamps (25, 26), and a transparent hood covering these lamps. Two oppositely directed reflectors (18, 19) arranged offset relative to one another are mounted on the baseplate (10), each being assigned to an incandescent lamp (25, 26). It is possible by suitably arranging and constructing the reflectors inside the indicator luminaire to permit the light emitted from the incandescent lamps to be collected and projected with an intense luminosity into the region, e.g. of a platform, often frequented by train staff. Thus, the invention provides a substantial improvement in the lighting and signalling effect of the indicator luminaires simply by improving the optical system. <IMAGE>
