<p>New 1-phenyl-1-alkylthio-urea derivs. are of formula (I):- (where R1 and R2 are Cl, or R1 is H or Cl and R2 is CF3; R3 is 1-6C alkyl; or haloalkyl; R4 and R5 are 1-3C alkyl). Cpds. (I) are esp. useful for pre- or post-emergence control of broad-leaved and grassy weeds (including wild oats) in cereal crops. A typical cpd. is 1-(4-chloro-3-trifluoromethylphenyl)-1-isopropylthio-3,3-dimethyl- urea. In an example, this is prepd. from 1-(4-chloro-3-trifluoromethylphenol)-3,3-dimethylurea and isopropylsulphenyl chloride.</p> |
