Photo-finishing machine printing headings on reverse side - feeds film through exposure unit synchronised with print feed divided with precision markings

Machine prints headings on reverse side of a photo print, where position of heading will be at a predetermined distance from the edges of the print. A conventional photo-finishing machine is modified by adding the printing unit which operates on the reverse side of the developed film prior to the cutting and printing of several separate phogographs. The exposed negatives of the film (10) are fed into a developing machine (11) and then wound on a spool (12). The spool is transmitted to a printing unit (14) with the film travelling from a feed to a take-up spool via an exposure unit (16) which is synchronised to the feed of the printing paper. The printing paper is divided into marks between the images. The position of consecutive markings are detected and used to produce the required control signals.
