1530542 Loading container carts in vehicles PEPSICO Inc 7 March 1977 [15 March 1976] 09449/77 Heading B8E Container carts (shown in dot-dash lines in Fig. 1) are carried from an entry/exit lift platform 18 on to wheeled carriers 62 of an endless conveyer 20 mounted on the floor of a vehicle 12. The conveyer has a chain 28 driven by a motor 48, and can be tensioned by a screw 40. Each carrier is formed with grommets 84, 84, (Fig. 6) which engage upstanding pins (60) (Fig. 3, not shown) carried by the conveyer chain. The carrier slopes slightly downwardly towards the grommets 84, 84, so that the carts tend to be retained by gravity against stops 94, 96. A safety interlock gate (112), (114) (Fig. 3, not shown) is arranged to stop the conveyer during loading or unloading. |
