(where A is NHMe, pyrrolo, pyrrolidino, 4-(anilinocarbonylmethyl)-1-piperazinyl, 4- (3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)amino-carbonylmethyl -1-piperazinyl 4-(diphenylmethyl)-1-piperazinyl 4-(2,3-dihydroxypropyl)-1-piperazinyl, 4-(2-hydroxy-2-phenyl -ethyl)-1-piperazinyl or 4-(1,2-epoxy-2-phenylethyl)-1-piperazinyl). Cpds. (I) have cardiovascular activity. They generally act as hypotensives with different effects on the heart (e.g. positive or negative chronotropic or bradycardia-producing). In an example, (I; A=NHMe). HCl is prepd. from methylamine and chloroacetophenone (sic).
