<p>In a process for cleaning exhaust gas streams contg. suspended solids using a filter system, the filter medium is continuously sprayed with a liq. medium in which the sepd. solids are soluble or will form an emulsion. The liq. can be mineral acid in which the solid is soluble. Oily and resinous substances can be removed by the addition of detergent type compds. to the circulating liquor. Additionally organic materials can be emulsified in an aq. medium. Where inorganic materials which are soluble in a mineral acid are present together with organic materials, the acid and a suitable organic solvent can be alternately sprayed. Used for removing both organic and inorganic materials suspended in gas streams.</p> |
