Each cap is then delivered by gravity to a peripheral recess 9 of rotating drum 8 together with a sealing gasket, delivered via shoot 20, and push rod 21 controlled by cam 23 causes engagement of gasket and cap. The assembly is then released into container 27. Guide means for the caps may be provided between the tools 14 and 19 and the drum 8, and a plurality of caps (e.g. 3) may be formed simultaneously from one strip, in which case a plurality of sets of co-operating tools are arranged in parallel and the caps are simultaneously delivered to consecutive recesses 9.</p> |
