1327124 Pressure sensitive adhesive tape SCHOLL MFG CO Ltd 19 April 1971 [17 April 1970] 20712/71 Heading B2E A pressure-sensitive adhesive tape comprises a woven synthetic fibre backing having more warp threads than weft threads, an acrylic polymer primer on one face thereof bonding the fibres of the backing together to render it impervious and a pressure-sensitive adhesive containing natural and synthetic rubber over said primer, wherein the tape may be torn in the transverse or longitudinal direction in a straight line leaving clean and unfrayed edges. The backing may be of cellulose acetate, rayon or rayon acetate fibres. Water or solvent-based acrylic latices form suitable primers. The adhesive may be applied over the primer by calendering. The tape is particularly useful as a surgical dressing. |
