A pusher-type tunnel furnace with a controlled atmosphere for sintering ferrites consists of a preheating zone, a high temp. zone and a cooling zone. In the preheating zone an atmospheric flow is maintained within the furnace space, directed from the inlet towards the high temp. zone and most of it is discharged at the transition between the two zones. A similar flow is maintained in the reverse direction in the cooling zone and discharged at the transition. This eliminates the undesirable condensation of bonding medium vapours in the preheating zone. Any excessive temperature rise of the sintered articles by exothermic reactions is suppressed.
|
