The ribs are formed so that a single rib (15) on one part of the camera case fits into the groove between two ribs (16) on the mating prat. The ribs may run in any direction, and may have chamfered edges to facilitate fitting. Any sizeable internal component of the camera may be fastened down to the case to help stiffen it; screw-threaded bushes are moulded into the case where necessary for this purpose. Components usable in this way include a bearer on which transport rollers are mounted and a bar which prevents the cassette being inserted upside down.
