The wash unit includes a basin (1) and a delivery pipe (8) fastened so that its outlet end (8b) - fitted with an adjustable valve spray nozzle - can be set in any one of numerous positions above the basin. The rate of flow and direction of the water jet can be regulated. A basically spherical head member (17a) has a through opening connected to the delivery pipe (8). The spray nozzle is fastened to the head member (17a) so that it can be rotated and swivelled relative to the outlet end. Since the rate of flow of the water can be regulated independently of the direction of the spray a better shower effect can be achieved.
