The screw connection between two components comprises a clearance hole for a self-tapping screw in the one component and a smooth-sided hole for self-tapping engagement by the screw in the other component. The screws may be commercially available wood screws. The other component may be an extruded section e.g. for forming the sides of a drawer. The section may include undercut grooves each defining a hole having a slot in its side. A panel may be secured to an end face of the section by using the slotted holes for tapping into.
