Absorption sound damper for flow channels - with flat structures of closed cell soft foam contg. lead balls

Absorption sound damper for flow channels comprises, disposed between the flow channel and other cavities, through which no current flows, flat structures of closed cell soft foam, pref. crosslinked polyethylene foam approx. 5mm thick, contg. Pb balls approx 3mm in dia. and spaced apart by approx. 30 mm. Pref. the flow channel extends angularly due to the flat foam structures which are arranged in a zig zag shape in a square housing so that the cavity depth behind the flat structures varies from one point to another. On opposite sides of the flow channel may be foam webs which differ from each other with respect to density and/or mean spacing between the balls embedded in them.
