Reinforcing inlay for wire assemblies of preformed coils - made of dry absorbent felt impregnated with excess resin from insulating bush

Reinforcing inlay is provided for adjacent wire assemblies of preformed coils for electrical machines with insulation consisting of a binder-preimpregnated synthetic resin mica foil or strip which is applied to the wire assembly. The inlay consists of dry absorbent felt which is impregnated with excess resin from the insulating bush and hardened together with the bush. Pref. the inlay is cut to a length such that it extends over the curvature into the head region of the coil. The resiliency of the felt allows it to conform to the surface of the wire assemblies, and its absorbency allows the gaps between the wire assemblies to be filled with resin without cavities.
