1491432 Utilization of red muds CHEMOKOMPLEX VEGYIPARI GEP-ES BERENDEZES EXPORT-IMPORT VALLALAT and ALUTERV ALUMINIUMIPARI TERVEZO VALLALAT 12 March 1976 [17 March 1975] 10002/76 Heading C1J A process for the utilization of red mud from alumina processing, comprises mixing 51-90 wt. per cent on a dry weight basis of red mud with 10-49 wt. per cent of at least one inorganic material selected from minerals and silicate materials viz. silica, quartz sand, phyllo-silicates, inosilicates, mesosilicates, tectosilicates, silicatecontaining industrial wastes and domestic wastes, primary volcanic rocks, surface volcanic rocks, oil shale residues, loess and dolomite, said inorganic materials being of particle size of at most 1 mm., and in the cases of dolomite and plastic and brick clays when constituting said silicates, being used in admixture with other inorganic materials, amounts of at most 15% and 7À5% respectively by wt. are used. Green shaped products are fired at 950-1250‹ C.
