The pack containing and keeping foodstuff etc. consists of two strips of cellophane (11, 12) secured side by side by adhesive via a carrier (2), a reinforcing strip (3) inside the carrier which strip is cut along a line (L) in the same plane as the boundary between the two strips (11, 12), and a protective sleeve (4). The assembly of carrier and cellophane strips may be folded and glued together such that the boundary line between the strips is the parting line between a container portion (5) and a lid portion (6) of the pack. The carrier may be aluminium foil, which may have a thickness between 280 and 320 micron.
