PURPOSE: To drive a transverse electrode load by a constant-voltage source by storing energy from a power source in a transformer, so as to supply it to an outputting load and re-storing charging energy of the outputting load in the transformer, so as to attenuate and return it to the power source. CONSTITUTION: When a switch S1 is on, a current from a power source Vin flows through the first side coil of the transformer 1 to store energy in the primary side coil, and when the switch S1 is off, a current is supply-charged to the load of the capacitive transverse electrode Cpanel through a secondary side coil. On the other hand, when the switch S2 is on, the transformer T1 receives charging energy from the load Cpanel to re-store and a voltage applied to the load panel is made close to the voltage reference level of the secondary side coil. Next, when the switch S2 is off, re-stored energy is attenuated and returned to the power source Vin through the primary side coil. With this constitution, if desired the transverse driver circuit requires only one power source without having power control, and damage caused by the short circuits between electrodes on an EL panel can be minimized. |
