<p>Oil-modified sucrose resins are obtained by reacting a sucrose partial ester, containing from about one to five ester groups per molecule of sucrose, with a cyclic dicarboxylic acid anhydride and a diepoxide, Preferably the reaction takes place in the presence of an alkaline catalyst. A process is provided for producing these resins. Coating compositions containing these resins are provided.</p> |
