Box for insert switch module - has element displacing protective screen and making earth contact simultaneously

A switch-box for the insertion of a module containing the switchgear, with mains and load leads in the box protected by screens when the module is removed, to prevent accidental contact. A wedge-shaped element on the module shifts the screens as the module is inserted, to enable contact to be made with the conductors, in known fashion. The construction is modified so that when the module (2) is inserted into the box (1), the wedge-shaped element (6) in addition to displacing the screen also makes contact with a side wall (7) of the protective shield for the conductor in order to provide an earth connection.
