<p>Heat treatment plant comprises a vertical calcining furnace consisting of an upper cylindrical part with a tangential entry port for particles of material in suspension in a gas or air current and a fuel jet. The furnace has a common exit for the gas and for the heat treated material at its upper end and an entry for air and/or hot gas at its lower end. Since the particles are rising up the furnace against the force of gravity, the furnace height can be reduced compared with known plant in which the reverse is the case, for the corresponding calcination time.</p> |
