Load bearing, impermeable insulating concrete is made by first preparing a mortar, from a mixt. of a hydraulic cement with fine (0.1-5mm) insulating material and a hydrophobic additive, then introducing coarser particles (3-25 mm) of insulating material in a mixer. The insulating material is pref. expanded perlite, the hydrophobic material is magnesium stearate, and the coarser particles are expanded solist. Material made from the concrete exhibit good mechanical strength (60-80 kg/cm2 under compression,) and good thermal insulation properties, and are moisture impermeable.
|
