<p>Profile glass sheets or similar fragile material, such as curved window panes, windscreens, or rear windows of automobiles, are packed in a box with the aid of profiled support blocks supporting the edges of the sheets, without allowing the sheets to contact each other. At least 4 such supports surround each sheet of glass, each support consisting of a block with several grooves for supporting glass sheets in each of its two major surfaces. The blocks are made in a compressible material such as expanded polystyrene. Two of the supports are arranged in two corners of the box and have profiles matching the adjacent corners of one or more profile sheets arranged in parallel. The other two supports are arranged against two interior opposite faces of the box and have grooves to receive the edges of the glass sheets.</p> |
