<p>The chuck for the handpiece of interchangeable dental tools comprises a three-jaw chuck driven by a driver shaft which is hollow at least at its front end, and of which the jaws form an outer cone which engages in an inner cone. The inner cone is formed by a separate component which is supported by the free end of the driver shaft and at the rear end of which is a ball thrust bearing abutting: against a collar of the driver shaft. Between the rear end of the three-jaw chuck and the driver shaft is a thread connection of which the thread direction corresponds to the working direction of rotation of the driver shaft. Application of the tool to the workpiece reinforces the mounting of the tool, preventing release of the chuck during operation.</p> |
