The electrical heating electronic thermostat has a calculating unit (1). This unit has a known type probe (3) and a temp. display element (4). The thermostat has also a phase shift circuit (10). This circuit (10) delays the start of a control pulse until the sinusoidal supply passes through zero. The circuit (10) also reduces the pulse width. The thermostat uses a high gain amplifier (5) and a static power switching unit (2) such as triac. This switching unit (2) is independent of the calculating unit. The switching unit (2) can be mounted at another point, and several switches may be connected to the same calculating unit.
