The electric tooth brush has a hollow handle containing an electric motor which rotates a brush in the form of a disc (6). The brush has radial bristles sufficiently thin to permit the cleaning of the interdental spaces, being approximately 1 mm thick and 4-5 mm long. A hollow rod (4a, 4b) is joined to the handle, through which the movement of the motor is transmitted to a chuck (3). A ferrule (7) carrying the brush can be screwed on to this and is interchangeable. The hollow rod has a bent part (4b) near its distal extremity, the angle between the two parts being about 150 deg.
