<p>The brushless alternator has a double contact oblique bearing replacing the pair of bearings normally employed. The design also includes an integral fan, to simplify construction and reduce manufacturing costs. Cooling is achieved by fan blades integral with the non-magnetic rotating cylinder driving air over the coil and motor surfaces. Both the vanes or blades and the cylinder are of an aluminium alloy. The coils are housed in line with the blades extending radially from the cylinder and are enclosed within the overall machine cover which is in two parts which secure the coil laminations.</p> |
