Suspension for engine unit bearers - has elastomer block interposed between fixings on chassis member and engine and gear box unit

The flexible suspension is for use between an engine and gearbox assembly and a vehicle chassis. The unit consists of an engine and a gear box and is fitted to a longitudinal member (3) of the chassis. There is a block (4) of natural or synthetic oil resistant elastomer. On the upper and lower faces of the block are metal pieces (5, 6). The upper piece (5) has webs to make it U section (by welding or rivets) and the assembly is then fitted (9) to the engine/gear box. The lower plate (6) rests on a support (10), carried on the chassis longitudinal member joined by a threaded tie (12) with its head embedded in the elastomer block.
