Plant for the chemical or electrochemical treatment in aq. solns. of workpieces made of metals or synthetic materials, includes a row of tanks below an automatic conveyor moving a workpiece carrier horizontally and vertically. The conveyor consists of a set of rails guiding driven trolleys fitted with a hoist surrounded by a cowl; and the buttom of the cowl is fixed to two flexible lids which cover the row of tanks. When the trolley moves along the row of tanks, the cowl and the lids level with the trolley, forming a totally enclosed system fitted with fume extn. plant so fumes do not enter the atmos. The hoist is used to raise and lower a perforated drum which contains the workpieces and is rotated while in the aq. liqs. in the tanks. Used for pickling, bright pickling, oxidn., phosphate coating, electroplating, or metallising. |
